"Una Vita Nella Musica - Artur Rubinstein" Prize in Venice

On Saturday, December 12, Barenboim will receive the "Una Vita Nella Musica - Artur Rubinstein" Prize in Venice. The prize honors his sixty years of performing as a pianist and conductor, and is considered by many to be the "Nobel Prize" of music. Former recipients of the prize have included  Zubin Mehta, Maurizio Pollini, Karl Böhm, and Leonard Bernstein. Barenboim will perform an all-Chopin program for the occasion, his first performance in the Teatro la Fenice since 1979. For program details please see the performances page.
