MOSES MENDELSSOHN MEDAL
On February 3rd, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s 200th birthday, Daniel Barenboim will be presented with the Moses Mendelssohn Medal, an award granted for a lifetime dedicated to tolerance in the spirit of the Jewish philosopher Moses Mendelssohn, grandfather of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. The award will be presented at a ceremony following Barenboim’s concert with the Staatskapelle Berlin and Nikolaj Znaider.
