Elliott Carter Chamber Music at Zankel Hall

On Monday, May 11th, Daniel Barenboim and members of the Staatskapelle Berlin take a break from their Mahler cycle to honor the living composer Elliott Carter, who turned 100 last December. The chamber music program at Carnegie’s Zankel Hall includes Carter’s Selections from Eight Pieces for Four Timpani, his Cello Sonata, the Figment V for Marimba, and his Quintet for Piano and Winds. Barenboim is joined by Gregor Witt, Matthias Glander, Claudius Popp, Torsten Schönfeld and other members of the Staatskapelle Berlin.
